I began following Charlie Munger early in my college years. His book "Poor Charlie's Almanack" and Value Investing course co-hosted by Li Lu at my university are my investing awakening.
Yet I've gained even more from Munger's thoughts beyond investing. I learnt to appreciate the power of multidisciplinary thinking and lifelong learning. His saying "common sense is more important than knowledge" also inspired me to start my collection journey of common sense in life and my Common Sense in Disguise series (Common Sense in Disguise #1; Common Sense in Disguise #2).
The podcast Acquired recently interviewed Charlie, claiming this was the only dedicated longform podcast interview Munger has done in his 99 years on Earth.
Charlie discussed common sense, decision making, family, nature of different business, great companies, and of course many insightful perspectives, so much so that my notes were nearly as long as the full transcript. Therefore, I hope to share his thoughts with like-minded individuals.
You can read the full transcript here (which took me 30 minutes) or listen to the podcast (1 hour) at the links below.
Thanks for your reading and I hope you enjoy it. Stay safe and see you next time.
